Les Jardins de La Fontaine
About a fifteen-minute walk from Hôtel Marquis de la Baume, the Gardens of la Fontaine are among the first public gardens laid out in France, in the 18th century, around a sacred spring already revered in Antiquity.

With its pools, statues and shaded avenues of centuries-old plane trees, the park offers an ideal setting for a peaceful stroll, especially at the end of the day.
Continuing the walk towards Mont Cavalier, you reach the Tour Magne, a remnant of the Roman walls, which from its summit reveals a remarkable panorama over Nîmes and the surrounding landscapes.

Accessible in around twenty minutes on foot from Hôtel Marquis de la Baume, the Tower Magne overlooks the Jardins de la Fontaine and is one of the last remnants of Nîmes’ Roman fortifications, built under Augustus.
